Leading this charge are two major constitutional sheriffs groups — the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association and Protect America Now — which have aligned themselves with True the Vote, a conservative vote-monitoring group whose evidence of voter fraud in the 2020 election were the basis for the film "2000 Mules."
The campaign calls on sheriffs to use their authority to investigate and intervene in the administration of elections using a variety of tactics, from surveilling polling stations and ballot drop boxes, to potentially seizing voting equipment and deputizing citizens.
