I made a stink about this more than 25 years ago. I insisted that students rise out of respect for me during the pledge of allegiance to Our Flag. One parent got bent out of shape and the administration called me to task. The high school principal at that time was a lesbian. My Dad was proud of me but in the end the male student refused to rise. His Mom was on the school board and also a person of color. ASSHOLES have always been plentiful! Now my goal is to point out the error of their ways and if that does not work then I expunge or DELETE them. P. S. I was a quiet wallflower in high school. TRUTH!
